International Women’s Day 2026
“Radiate a happy feeling of Spring”
To celebrate International Women’s Day we asked Hanako to create a chopstick collection design that echoed the values and emotions behind it. Building on the Mimosa yellow color that symbolizes this event – Hanako designed each aspect to give an overall effect of the blooming of Spring. Happy colors, kiku logos arranged in a dancing rhythm across the mimosa yellow surface and an original bLOom logo that Hanako created on the fly. This IWD2026 design project has seen the cumulated efforts of our journey gel into the unified expressive design we are chasing.
This video is our Ode to Hanako’s creative force – something we adore so much.
Following the spirit of the founders of IWD and considering our location in front of the UNU – on March 8 2026 we will be rewarding 4 unique bLOom sets to women recognized by their peers at the HAPPY WOMAN Award Event for their positive contributions to women’s empowerment and advancement within society.

KIKUSUMIクリエイティブパートナーのハナコが、国際女性デー2026を記念して特別箸コレクションをデザイン。東京KULURラボにて6ヶ月以上かけて丹念に漆手描きを施しました。bLOoMデザインには
女性の繊細で逞しい強さを象徴するミモザイエローを採用。 優雅な女性らしさと遊び心ある色彩が特徴で、一本一本が唯一無二の存在。
上箸にはKIKUSUMIロゴが春の色彩を纏い、リズミカルな模様として躍動感あるデザインを施しています。

KIKUSUMI creative partner Hanako has designed a special chopstick collection to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026. Meticulously hand-painted with urushi over 6 months in KULUR Lab Tokyo. bLOoM design utilizes
mimosa yellow – chosen to represent the sensitive and resilient strength of women. Elegantly feminine, with playful color details, each chopstick set is unique. The KIKUSUM logo dances across the upper chopstick in a rhythmic pattern dressed in a palette of Spring colors.
bLOoM Collection radiates with the happy feeling of Spring.
